FAQ
On2 Salsa, also known as New York Style Salsa, emphasizes dancing to the second beat of the music. It offers a unique flavor and smoother style compared to On1.
Our classes are designed for intermediate and advanced On 2 dancers who already have a solid foundation in salsa and are looking to refine their technique, musicality, and partnerwork skills.
For those who are transitioning from other styles or with less experience, we recommend starting with the Master Your Mambo course to build a solid foundation before progressing to the intermediate shines and partnerwork courses.
We are based at Empire Studios in Grey Lynn, Auckland, centrally located for easy access. There is ample street parking available in the surrounding streets.
For our partnerwork classes, no partner is required. We rotate partners during the class to ensure everyone gets a chance to practice with different dancers.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Dance shoes or shoes with smooth soles are recommended for better turns and footwork.
We do offer private lessons, get in touch with us to discuss how we can work together to help you achieve your dance goals.
We do offer competition coaching as well as choreographing services. Get in touch with us to discuss how we can help and pricing. We recommend starting earlier in the year to have enough time to practice and to ensure we have enough capacity to help.
We mainly focus on intermediate and advanced level On 2 dancers. There are a number of suitable schools in Auckland for beginner salsa dancers. We have unique experience from travelling and living overseas and want to share this to help grow the salsa scene in Auckland. We are also experienced competitors at the professional level and can help those who want to progress into competing.
Feel free to contact us for any bookings, we are regular teachers a number of festivals across NZ and Australia.
